Our Minister

At Wellspring, we believe that every individual's contribution is vital to our community and mission. Each member plays a significant role, and we strive to foster an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to do their best. Together, we navigate the path of faith and service, ensuring that we act with integrity and compassion in all that we do. Regardless of our individual roles, we share a common purpose: to honour our commitment to doing the right thing for one another and our community.

Nic Langton-Miller

The Rev Nic has been our minister for about six years now, bringing a refreshing perspective to our congregation. Her innovative ideas have encouraged us to think "out of the box" and engage in new ways of worship and community outreach. With her guidance, we have explored creative approaches to scripture and fellowship, fostering a vibrant spiritual environment that resonates with all members of the church.

Our Welcome Statement

Our Story

Wellspring Methodist Church was established in 1992 through the joining of two local congregations: Kinsey Street  and Mossley Chapel. This union marked the beginning of a new chapter for worshippers in the area, combining the unique traditions and strengths of both churches into a single, vibrant community.

The foundation and early growth of Wellspring Church were deeply inspired by the vision and dedication of the Reverend Margaret Eaton and her husband, the late Mike Eaton. Their commitment to fostering a welcoming and dynamic environment for worship played a crucial role in shaping the church’s identity and mission. Rev Margaret’s leadership was instrumental in guiding the newly formed congregation through its formative years, nurturing its sense of unity and purpose.

Growth and Continued Involvement

Since its inception, Wellspring Church has continued to

flourish. Even after her retirement, the Rev Margaret Eaton remains an important figure within the church community, actively participating in church life and supporting its ongoing work. Her enduring involvement is a testament to her passion for the church and its members.

Modern Leadership and Worship

Today, the church is led by the Reverend Nic Langton-Miller, who inspires the congregation to embrace the challenges and opportunities of modern worship. Rev Nic’s approach combines respect for tradition with innovative ideas, ensuring that Wellspring Church remains relevant and engaging for people of all ages.

A Community Moving Forward

Wellspring Church stands as a beacon of faith, hope, and community spirit, continually adapting to the needs of its members and the wider society. Its journey from the merging of two churches to its current status as a thriving congregation highlights the power of unity, inspired leadership, and a shared commitment to spiritual growth.

We welcome you from newborn until after you have received your telegram from the King. We expect you to wriggle and take part - and ask questions if you are unsure.

We welcome those who feel organised religion is not for them (It’s not for us either). Come and find a place here with us. We welcome those who have been hurt elsewhere. We won't always get things right, but we will always try and learn together.

We welcome those whose bodies no longer work as they once did, or perhaps never worked as we would have liked. Come and make yourselves comfortable.

We welcome those keeping everyone else together; and those trying to keep themselves together.

We welcome those who have a job and those who are looking for one. we welcome school goers and school leavers. We welcome the retired and the retired-but-still busy.

We welcome questioners and thinkers, creatives and scientists.  You're welcome whether you’ve got it all sorted, or everything's a mess. We welcome those needing friends and those whose friends bring them along.

We welcome those who walk or drive past, and those who heard there were biscuits.

We welcome those who didn’t know we were here. Whether you're a regular, a wanderer, or just passing through.

AII are welcome here.
